Cycling Mr. Hercules

Bike To Work using old, classic bicycle? I kid you not! I have this co-work who's into vintage bike. Seeing us cycling to work motivated him to do just the same. Had to give him big applause cause two things: 1. His classic Hercules bicycle (circa 1940) uses only single speed. 2. It took him a whopping 28Km to reached office.

After taking this picture I asked him if he's going to do it often, "maybe not, I'm not worried about my stamina but I'm afraid something would happen to this old sport" Well can't blame him but at least the spirit of B2W lives in him!

I should've taken more pics rite?

No Excuse For This New KHS Brother

Usually we got poisoned by Dedy's words about bicycle parts. He made some of us convinced to buy better parts like Juju hub, Smart Sam tires and Tektro hydro brakes. But for bike frame, we have our own liking, despite the fact that in my office KHS is the most popular brand of choice. This friend of mine have different views, he was a "weight winnies", always in pursue to trim the weight of his bike.
But Citatih trip made him fell the need to a full-suspension one. Spontaneously we offer him to "join the club", KHS owner style! But he always said "I would never buy a KHS". Why? Simply because he doesn't want to be the same league as us. Not that its bad, you now lah!

A few days back he admits eyeing in this particular frame you see in the picture. And today, he finally transfered all the rest of the parts. So what frame is that? Look closely, very close on the writings in its down tube. Its a 2007 KHS 104...wakakakaka. So what happened? He's converted , nuff said! :-)
Well, no excuse this time brother!

Note:
I should've put "Welcome To The KHS Brotherhood" for the title of this post but I already used it before.

Good idea. There IS a website dedicated to promote road safety by displaying wrong example we can find in everyday life. Nope I'm not talking about foreign website, this one is proudly made by local, salute! The site, called www.maludong.com encourage people to send their own snapshots taken from digicam, cell phone, or pretty much any media. I simply like this site. For my first contribution, I already sent mine. Wait no more friends, send yours too!

A T.Rex Named Sue

This isn't new update. I was looking for a picture when I found these collection. It was taken during my Singapore visit May 2006. I always fascinated by history, artifacts and the story behind it. Dinosaur is no exception. Lucky for me, I got a chance to see the exhibition "A T.Rex Named Sue" in Science Center,Jurong.

So why the name "Sue"? This gigantic Tyrannosaurus Rex named after its discoverer, Susan Hendrickson. And why it's so special? Because Sue is the largest, most complete and best preserved T. Rex skeleton in the world. Excerpt from The Field Museum, where she rests now: She is 42 feet long and 13 feet high at the hips. In life, she probably weighed 7 tons. She had 58 teeth that ranged in length from 7 ½ to 12 inches long nestled in her 5-foot-long skull. She died 65 million to 67 million years ago. Using growth rings in her bones, scientists estimate that Sue was 28 years old at her death. No one knows Sue's true gender – physical evidence from her skeleton contradicted the leading hypothesis regarding how to identify the sex of a T. rex. Because the dinosaur was named after the woman who discovered it, it is often referred to as "she." Officially, however, Sue is an "it."

Beside the exhibition, we had a chance to see the Imax 3D Dinosaur movie. The whole trip really worth it!

This quiet guy really happy today, smiling with his newly built custom KHS Alite 500. Welcome to the brotherhood..yayyyyyy! So lets see, now we have 4 KHS bikes in our office alone. I dont care what bike anyway. But lets' hope he's not the last breed of this poisonous hobby. By the way, our next target will be our big boss, the main man. Better hold your promise boss!

(You Can) Stop Hoax By Simple Research

This morning a friend forwarded a news regarding 10 commercial drugs that people should avoid. These include Paramex (my fave!), Hemaviton and Bodrex. Also said that a number of people already died consuming the drug. This warning, signed by "Drs. H. Sampurno, M.B.A", head of POM (Food & Drugs Regulation) Indonesia looks suspiciously hoax.
First, the list consist of popular brand name drugs. If its true, would it be causing huge attention?
Second, I think I've read this hoax before. Kinda old news
Ok, so to be sure I used my all-trusty research method known to man: The Internet! hahahahha. I ran down the search engine and found many results pointed to...yes, HOAX. Apparently this thing already circulated long enough (no wonder looks familiar), dated April 2003! OMG shame on you people! One thing that made me ROLF was the fact that "Drs. H. Sampurno, M.B.A" is no longer the head of POM! C'mon, talk about creativity....
I dont like hoax, spam or chain letters (who does?), but I also pity the people who's taking part promoting it by forwarding the news without rechecking the facts. So how to tell? Its easy than you think, like what I did just now, just point your browser and start googling around :-)

These are some noteworthy links related to hoax I stumbled when I did my search. Keep reading cause who knows, the story you've heard so far is genuinely fake!

Mother Nature vs Human, 1-0

Indeed, once again mother nature shown her powers in unique-disastrous kinda way. Rain that pours since last night has made some areas in Jakarta flooded with water. Ofcourse "flooding" in Jakarta isn't a new word, but this time its different. Remember 5 years back when Jakarta touted "almost drowned"? Well now you get the picture. So what makes it worsen? Pollution? Overpopulated? Some brainless people in government who doesn't know how to build the city? Or make it complete: Brainless citizen who doesn't know and care how to take care of their environment? Could it be a bit of all that. My brain tingles "why we keep on falling into the same hole as before and tumble back down again"?
